What's a group?

 this scattering of avian eating machines

 unified by the stingy

 seed-bearing hard-packed

 dirt under the oaks

 Head-down goose-consciousness

 the working of black neck muscles

 occasional flare-ups and flappings

 disrupt the average distance

 a contagion of excitement

 Oh you geese!

 with your pathetic pecking and delving

 for cruddy bits of stems and pebbles in   the turf /occasional seeds, decaying   leaves and paper

 Look up! Sky! Sky! Sky!

 And out on the lake

 large and white

two swans sailing left to right
